Soft skills help a person to communicate effectively with others. These include self-awareness, facility with language, sense of responsibility, team-playing abilities, flexibility, friendliness, and many more. Soft skills complement hard skills, and in a world where the premium is placed on interactivity and communication can be invaluable assets for individuals. From daily discussions to formulating life-changing policies, the positive impact of Debate has been widespread since ancient times. Today, many public leaders and business professionals enjoy success based on skills acquired as active youth debaters.

Keeping in view the importance, ICAP is holding CA Pakistan ICON Debater as per the below schedule.

Lahore: July 17, 2017 (Monday) | 9:30 am to 2:00 pm
Islamabad:  July 18 2017 (Tuesday) | 9:30 am to 2:00 pm
Karachi: July 20 2017 (Thursday) | 9:30 am to 2:00 pm

Venue: ICAP Auditoriums

Stations: Lahore, Karachi and Islamabad

Teams from the RAETS of Lahore, Faisalabad, Multan and Gujranwala will participate in the competition from Lahore. Teams from Peshawar, Rawalpindi and Abbottabad will participate from Islamabad. Teams from Sukkur and Hyderabad will participate from Karachi.

The students are required to prepare in favor or against the following topic;

Topic:    Selfies: Blessing or Curse?

The duration of each debate will be seven (7) minutes and the medium of communication will be English only. Contestants will be evaluated by the panel of judges based on the evaluation criteria that is attached herewith.

Each RAET can send maximum 2 nominations (one must be in favor of the topic and the other one will be against it) through registration form (attached) to the respective ICAP house as mentioned below.

The last date of registration is July 13, 2017 (Thursday).
