Mr. Muhammad Zaid Kaliya, FCA, is a reform-minded finance leader and governance professional with over two decades of experience across leading organizations. Currently serving as Chief Financial Officer of TATA Pakistan, he brings to the ICAP Council a strong commitment to strengthening institutional governance, enhancing member value, and advancing the chartered accountancy profession in line with evolving global standards. His career reflects a consistent focus on sustainable growth, professional excellence, and future-ready reforms.
Mr. Zaid has held senior leadership positions including Chief Financial Officer and Head of Internal Audit across the FMCG, Retail, Pharmaceutical, and Textile sectors. His expertise spans financial strategy, risk management, compliance, digital transformation, and corporate governance. An SECP-certified Director, he has been recognized for excellence in corporate reporting, with TATA Pakistan’s Annual Reports securing First Place at the Best Corporate and Sustainability Awards in 2023 and 2024.
His leadership extends beyond corporate roles into national and international platforms of institutional development. He has represented Pakistan by carrying the national flag at three Global Toastmasters International Annual Conventions and has served five years in senior leadership roles within Toastmasters Pakistan, including Club Growth Director, Program Quality Director, and Country Head. He has received four leadership awards from Toastmasters International, and under his stewardship as Country Head, Pakistan achieved the prestigious “Smedley Distinguished” recognition, an honor earned by only 12 out of 130 districts worldwide.
As a motivational speaker and corporate trainer, Mr. Zaid has empowered over 600 aspiring communicators and delivered more than 100 workshops and keynote addresses at various forums. He also holds the distinction of being the first Pakistani to secure 2nd place in the International Video Speech Contest 2019.
His dedication to the profession is reflected in his longstanding service to ICAP, where he has served on the PAIB, CPD, Fiscal Laws, and Economic Affairs Committees. He has spearheaded key initiatives, including the CA Toastmasters Club Karachi for members, the CA NextGen Leaders program for students, and the successful launch of the ICAP Speechcraft Program for ICAP trainees; demonstrating his strong focus on member engagement, leadership development, and youth empowerment.
Mr. Zaid’s multifaceted career, global exposure, and reform-driven mindset position him to make meaningful contributions to the ICAP Council, with a clear focus on modernization, inclusivity, professional relevance, and long-term institutional strength.
