Happy Birthday, Pakistan!
August 14, 2017. Pakistan turned 70 today. The Institute of Chartered Accountants of Pakistan (ICAP) celebrated Pakistan’s Independence day at ICAP house Karachi.
ICAP president Nadeem Yousuf Adil hoisted Pakistan’s green flag at a simple ceremony. Cool gentle breeze, soft early morning sunlight and “Pak sar zameen…” playing in the background, made the perfect backdrop for this first time ICAP initiative.
VP-South Khalilullah Sheikh, Council members Syed Najmul Hussain, Sharif Tabani, Riaz A. Chamdia, ICAP chief operating officer Abdul Malik and his team – all dressed in white and green – were present on the occasion.
Speaking on the occasion, Nadeem Yousuf Adil said: “It’s important we remind our younger generation the importance of this country and instill patriotism in them.”
Khalilullah Sheikh said, “We should promote positivity, and be the beacon of light for others. We have to think of what we can give back to our country, and not what the country can do for us.”
Abdul Malik promised that ICAP will continue to celebrate this event on a larger scale in the years to come.
