Founded in December 1942 and headquartered in Lahore, Pakistan. Allied Bank Limited was the first bank to be established in Pakistan. The Bank started out in Lahore by the name Australasia Bank before independence in 1942 and became Allied Bank of Pakistan in 1974.
In August 2004, because of capital reconstruction, the Bank’s ownership was transferred to a consortium comprising Ibrahim Group; therefore, it was renamed as Allied Bank Limited in 2005.
Today, with its existence of over 70 years, the Bank has built itself a foundation with a strong equity, assets and deposit base. It offers universal banking services, while placing major emphasis on retail banking. The Bank has a large network of over 1000 online branches and about as many ATMs in Pakistan and offers various technology-based products and services to its diverse clientele
Allied Bank Ltd. provides commercial banking and related services. The company operates its business through the following segments: Corporate Finance, Trading & Sales, Retail Banking, Commercial Banking, Payment & Settlement and Asset Management.
The Corporate Finance segment includes investment banking activities, such as mergers and acquisitions, underwriting, privatization, securitization, initial public offers and secondary private placements.
The Trading & Sales segment undertakes the bank's treasury, money market and capital market activities.
The Retail Banking segment provides services to small borrowers, including consumers, small and medium enterprises and borrower's agriculture sector. This segment includes loans, deposits and other transactions with retail customers.
The Commercial Banking segment includes loans, deposits and other transactions with corporate customers.
The Payment & Settlement segment includes payments and collections, funds transfer, clearing and settlement with the customers.
The Asset Management segment includes services of funds management and investment related activities.
