The Institute of Chartered Accountants of Pakistan (ICAP) organized Teacher Training Seminars for the faculty of Intermediate and Bachelors at Karachi, Lahore and Islamabad.
Teacher training has fundamental significance in the development of an informed citizenry. ICAP being one of the leading regulators of the country has taken a CSR initiative to conduct teacher training seminars in order to improve the teaching capabilities/ motivation of the teachers in commerce and related disciplines in Lahore, Karachi and Islamabad. These sessions help ICAP in strengthening relationship with academia and is a service to teachers.
Mr. Bilal Zia, a trained consultant and chartered accountant with more than 12 years global experience, Ms. Bushra Abbas, a chartered accountant with 18 years of teaching experience to Cambridge students and Dr. Zeeshan Ahmed, Rector and Dean, Karachi School of Business and Leadership were the trainers, who shed the lights on important modern considerations such as academic social responsibility, assessment informed teaching model, alternate teaching mediums, future of accounting and teachers’ role in affecting the learning trajectories of intermediate and undergraduate students.
Besides offering a platform to learn, these seminars have also given excellent opportunity to the faculty of colleges to understand the salient features of Chartered Accountancy profession, its route, exemptions, global affiliations, linkages with government, scholarships and financial aid. These training sessions were followed by detailed Q/A sessions whereby the participants further improved their information about the profession.
