|The transition period allowed by the Institute for students from old scheme concluded with recent Summer 2018 examinations. The new Education scheme launched by the Institute provided ample transition period to students under old scheme. In April 2017, the Institute relaxed some transition provisions related to credits for papers passed and later in May 2017, to facilitate the students further, the transition period was extended from Winter 2017 to Summer 2018 examinations.
After Summer 2018 attempt, all students from old scheme now stand migrated to new education scheme and would therefore appear in Multi Subject Assessments (MSAs) from Winter 2018 attempt as follows:
|Certain students recently approached the Institute and enquired about the possibility of further extension in the transition period. The Council deliberated the matter in detail and after careful consideration of all relevant aspects concluded that sufficient transition period, allowing reasonable number of attempts, has already been provided. Accordingly, the transition period stands completed.
It is pertinent to note that MSAs have been introduced by the Institute in line with the best international practices to enhance the ability of students to handle various practical situations in an apt manner, providing them an excellent opportunity to better prepare for the challenges of professional career.
The Institute is committed to provide its support to students and is planning to introduce some MSA-specific initiatives, which would include guidance on assessment methodology, orientation sessions and study support materials, which will help the students, better understand the requirements of MSA and prepare for assessments efficiently and effectively.
