Newsletter The Institute of Chartered Accountants of Pakistan Peshawar President ICAP Riaz A. Rehman Chamdia in Karachi, vice president ICAP Jafar Husain in Lahore and senior members of ICAP in Islamabad and Peshawar raised the national flags. The national anthem and flag hoisting were followed by president ICAP’s address to the audience. In his message on Pakistan's 71st Independence Day, Riaz Chamdia stated that each individual should play his part for the growth, prosperity and development of the country. Independence of our beloved country is the result of endless sacrifices; we should not hesitate to make any sacrifice for the development of our country. “The Institute is fully cognisant of the obligation it carries towards the business and finance professionals. It is committed to provide a better platform for the financial leaders of the country to explore and overcome the challenges of the 21st century,” he stated further. He said that Pakistan is a developing country and youth in Pakistan makes up about 35% of its total population. Youth plays a vital role in keeping a nation upfront at the international level as through their contribution, a country moves on in the right direction of prosperity. The president also called for remembering the services of leaders of Pakistan movement and our forefathers who sacrificed their lives for the achievement of our motherland. A breakfast of halwa puri was served after the ceremony. 4 September 2018
