Assessment of Fundamental Competencies (AFC) examinations would be conducted in a computer based environment.
AFC-3 and AFC-4 would be entirely computer based in which only objective type questions would be examined. In case of AFC-1 and AFC-2, objective type questions would be tested on computer whereas essay type (descriptive) questions would be examined separately and will be held along with CAF examinations. However, with effect from Autumn 2015, all papers of AFC would be entirely computer based.
In order to facilitate the students in the AFC examinations, ICAP has developed a video to illustrate the salient features of the computer-based examination environment.

The Institute of Chartered Accountants of Pakistan (ICAP) opened a satellite office in District Sukkur for the convenience of local residents and the people of interior Sindh. The new office, located in Sukkur Institute of Business Administration (Sukkur IBA) will facilitate CA aspirants, parents , members and educational institutions and serve to nurture young talent by providing information about the premier accounting qualification of Pakistan. The newly renovated Moosa D. Desai Auditorium at ICAP House Karachi was inaugurated by President ICAP, Mr. Naeem Akhtar Sheikh on Thursday June 26, 2014.
The auditorium has been redecorated according to standards and will offer more conducive environment for our seminars, get togethers and meetings.

ICAP PARTICIPATION IN THE NEWS EDUCATION EXPO 2014

The Pearl Continental- Lahore, Pak China Friendship Center-Islamabad, Garrison Club –Peshawar and Expo Center-Karachi hosted thousands of students from different universities and colleges, where they not only discovered various career and education avenues but also displayed creativity and passion at the recreational platform provided by the News Media Group at the Education Expo 2014.
The MARCOM department of ICAP participated in the News Education Expo along with the young and passionate CA final students, over 50 national and international universities, higher educational institutes and colleges participated in The News Education Expo’14 organized by the Jang Media Group with the theme “Better Education—Prosperous Future at each station. Punjab Minister for Education Rana Mashhood Ahmed Khan inaugurated the two-day expo in which over 50 national and international universities, higher educational institutes and colleges are participating under the theme “Better Education—Prosperous Pakistan”. He said over the years “The News Education Expo” had emerged as one of the biggest education shows in Pakistan bringing together number of national and international educational institutes under one roof and providing a wonderful opportunity to students and people from different walks of life.
The minister visited the ICAP stall and highly appreciated the arrangements of ICAP team terming it a great education friendly initiative which can easily be differentiated with rest of the stalls. Terming ICAP a trendsetter after observing the huge response of visitors, he went on to say that the Punjab government shared the same vision for the promotion of education in the province. He congratulates the ICAP team for putting up great show and on such a success which will be quite handy for the young lots for building the careers and shaping dreams.
Despite sizzling days at each station, the ICAP stall attracted thousands (4500) of visitors, including people from various walks of life particularly students. A number of parents also accompanied their children in the expo at ICAP stall at each station to explore the best available learning opportunities for them. For the 18-year Mohsin, who visited the ICAP stall at Lahore with large number of friends, the first hand information through the CA finalists were a great help in exploring and comparing academic programmes being offered by various participating universities with the Chartered Accountancy. “The best part of the discussion with the CA Finalists are, you get most of your queries answered which helps in decision-making”, he said.
It is worth mentioning here that besides giving updated information about the CA stream, fee structure and scholarship opportunities etc a number of students have informed about unique attributes of CA Pakistan such as global mobility, high starting salary etc. that’s helps in removing uncertainties and doubts and helps the students in decision making.
